The safety of its products’ consummation is certified by TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas with the ISO 22000 certification. It is a commitment and fundamental duty of the company to develop, evolve and continuously improve all its administration systems. Oinomelos innovates as it is the first company which, aside from the production ISO, has received the necessary certification of the ISO 22000 also for the commercial activities.
According to TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas (2019), the ISO 22000 “System of Food Safety Management – Demands by the entities of the food chain” is the first international template for the management of food safety. The ISO 22000 can be applied by all the companies which are directly or indirectly involved in the food chain, from production to harvesting and animal feed production, up until processing, the food industry, whole-sale and retail trade, catering, storage and distribution as well as by companies involved in equipment production, product packaging, cleaning and sanitation products, additives and ingredients. The ISO 22000 template outlines the general demands for the creation of a System of Food Safety Management in a company and focuses on the mutual communication between all interested parties (corporations, suppliers, clients and government agencies) in the systematic management of the system, in risk management through prerequisite programs and through HACCP plans, as well as in the continuous improvement and updating of the system. The ISO 22000 is compatible with other Management Templates (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and can be applied independently or in tandem with them.
